Banksy curator joins Clevedon auction house

A prize Beryl Cook painting expected to fetch up to £12,000 is being auctioned in the first sale under a new fine arts consultant at Clevedon Salerooms who knows her Banksys from her Rembrandts.

Sheena Stoddard has joined the business after working in the Fine Art department at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery for 27 years including 14 as Curator of Fine Art.
An expert on Bristol artists, Ms Stoddard was involved in the the hugely successful Banksy exhibition at the Bristol City Art Gallery and during this summer, the Beryl Cook Exhibition.
"Sheena has shared her expertise with us for a number of years and now that she has more time we are delighted to have her as part of our team," said Toby Pinn from Clevedon Salerooms.
Sheena's first sale with the firm is the forthcoming Quarterly Specialist Sale on the 24th November and includes an original Beryl Cook oil on panel titled 'Brian Entertains'.
The picture comes with its original gallery receipt, measures 24" x 12" and will be estimated at £8,000 - £12,000.
