On Wednesday night Clevedon Town moved four places up the table with this convincing victory over high flying Cirencester Town in front of a crowd depleted by the international match on the television.

As expected, from their league position, Cirencester Town took the fight to the home side in the opening skirmishes and both defences were doing well to withhold the attacks.
After the initial burst of energy, the game settled down and play was mainly confined to the middle of the park with Cirencester having the better of the chances.
Efforts from James Mortimer-Jones, Scott Griffin, Sam Collier and Jon Beedon were well dealt with by Dylan Castanheira in the home goal.
At the other end, efforts from Dave Stone, Giani Kapika and Bawan Hussain, were eventually rewarded in the forty second minute when a long ball out of defence from Steve Kingdon found Dave Stone who slotted a pass through to Scott Murray, in a flash back to his Bristol City days, Scott took the ball around the keeper and slotted in to the empty net.
Half time soon followed and Clevedon went in to the break with a 1-0 lead.
The second half started in much the same fashion as the first, on this occasion however, the visitors took advantage of a freak goal on forty nine minutes when a shot from all of 30 yards by Scott Griffin dipped and swerved at the last minute to beat Dylan Castanheira to bring the scores level.
Clevedon immediately bounced straight back in to the lead when a cross from Dave Stone out on the Clevedon right wing, found Sam Teale who was able to have a clear header at goal to restore the advantage.
The home side had a great chance to go further ahead in the sixty ninth minute when a lovely ball from Mike Stephenson was slotted through to Dave Stone who rounded the keeper only to see his final shot cleared off of the line by Ellis Dunton.
Clevedon maintained their strangle hold on the half and on eighty two minutes Bawan Hussain put a pass to Scott Murray who found himself with only the keeper to beat and much like his first effort, he rounded the keeper and slipped the ball under the diving body for his second and Clevedon's third of the night.
Cirencester did all they could to try to regain some honour for their first half efforts and on ninety minutes a fierce drive from just inside of the Clevedon half by Ellis Dunton, stung the fingers of Castanheira in the home goal as he tipped the ball over the bar for a corner.
As the game was drawing to a close, Cirencester succeeded in scoring a second when a speculative shot from outside of the box by Sam Packer took a deflection off of a Clevedon defender and slid under Castanheira in the home goal.
There were a few tense moments to play out before the referee brought the game to a close with Clevedon Town victors by 3 goals to 2.
