A long queue of excited customers with a sweet tooth queued for the grand opening of Rhubarb 'n' Custard in Clevedon town centre this week.

Manager Richard Searle and his staff were run off their feet when the doors finally opened and Clevedon's first sweet shop at 2 The Triangle.

The new candy store opened on Saturday to a fanfare of enthusiasm from sweet lovers of all ages but especially the grown-ups!

The shop is very retro with sweets sold from glass jars or wrapped individually and weighed on scales.

It sells tuck shop confectionary from sherbet dips to jelly babies, aniseed balls to black jacks.
