A North Somerset pub raised £500 to help a local charity that is fighting prostate cancer, despite the fact that it is suffering as a result of a six month road closure.

Regulars at the Princes Motto in Barrow Gurney made their way to the pub on the B3130 Barrow Street for a quiz to support Run For The Future, which takes place on Bristol's Downs on Sunday September 8.
Funds are being collected this summer, with the 5-kilometre family fun run, which includes children's rides, music and stalls, the culmination of an appeal launched by television celebrity Carol Vorderman in May.
Landlord David Dinham said: "We have a fantastic loyal bunch of regulars who know that you can still get access to the pub and are supporting us through these tough times. We have to say that we have a lot of older men popping in here so raising money for prostate cancer with the quiz was close to all our hearts."
