If you're a fan of undisputed King of Pop, Michael Jackson then make sure you clear a space in your diary this week and head down to the Bristol Hippodrome to catch a performance of Thriller Live. Whether you are a committed fan or have found yourself singing in the shower to one of his many hits, then this is a must see show. Thriller Live includes more than two hours of non-stop hit songs from Michael;'s incredible career which spanned four decades. Despite his death in in June 2009, he is still one of the world's most celebrated performers – selling 750 million records with the Thriller album still the world's best selling recording of all time. As well as celebrating the solo career of Michael Jackson, Thriller Live starts its journey at the beginning of The Jackson 5's career, with their first four consecutive number one songs - I Want You Back, ABC, The Love You Save and I'll Be There. This is a slick show and what was evident from the start was the cast enjoyed performing it as much as the audience enjoyed listening to it. It was full of energy from the moment they walked on stage. Sparkly, seventies costumes, excellent choreography and the clever use of set was topped off with some A1 vocal performances. Stars of the show for me were Cleopatra Higgins who was energetic and note perfect alongside Lascel Wood who put on a convincing performance with fantastic vocals. Praise must also go to the band who whipped the crowds into a frenzy with some impressive guitar solos during the likes of hits Dirty Diana and Beat It. As Thriller Live took you through the journey of Michael's musical career, the audience was on its feet. Encouraged by the cast to join in during some songs, many people were just itching to get out of their seats and groove to some of Jackson's Mowtown and more recent classics. For me, I remember Jackson from the 1980s onwards – he was always on the decks at the school discos – with classics such as Thriller, Bad, Billie Jean and Beat It. And the cast did the King of Pop proud. Moonwalking, crotch grabbing and with plenty of the trademark Jackson squeals. All in all Thriller - Live was an exceptionally enjoyable night out and you cannot fail to be swept along by this high energy, top notch production. . By the end of the night the whole Hippodrome was on its feet, chanting for more. Infact, I even saw some of the audience trying to moonwalk home. Thriller Live is celebrating its fifth amazing year in the West End where it has become the longest-running production in the Lyric Theatre's 125-year history and takes to the stage of the Hippodrome until October 5. Thriller - Live moonwalked into the West End in January 2009 after three acclaimed UK tours. Several world tours since have seen the show play to acclaim in 26 countries, including Germany, Italy, Poland, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Singapore, South Africa, China, Sweden, Finland and Norway. It has just returned from a four- month run in Japan and a five-month run in Brazil.
