Clevedon Town drew away from home at weekend in a goalless match against Wimborn Town.

Clevedon Town v Wimborne Town at home in the FA Trophy last September
Clevedon started off in frantic fashion and for the first 45 minutes dominated this encounter.
As early as the second minute could have taken the lead when a speculative shot from Rory Prendergast deceived the home keeper, Jason Harvell, but unfortunately for the visitors went the wrong side of the upright.
This set the tone for the remainder of the half and further excellent efforts from Sam Teale, Prendergast, Russell Church and Alex Russell could have seen the visitors in front by a couple of goals before the interval.
The best chance of all came on 20 minutes when a rocket shot from Adi Adams crashed against the home cross bar, the rebound was met by Church but his header was just over the bar.
The only real chance for Wimborne came after eight minutes when Micky Hubbard dispossessed Sam Teale on the edge of the Clevedon box but his shot was well wide with only Lee Matthews to beat.
Wimborne came out for the second half and, playing with the slope showed a bit more determination.
With only two minutes gone in this period Aidan Sainsbury had a perfect chance to put them in front when he shot from just outside of the penalty area across the goal but fortunately for the visitors the ball just missed the far post.
Again on 60 minutes a 35 yard effort from Ryan Close brought a superb flying save from Lee Matthews.
From the clearance by Alex Russell, the ball fell to Russell Church who set off along the left wing, beat his defender and put in a beautifully flighted effort that brought a similar flying save from Harvell.
The home keeper was again on hand ten minutes later when he was quick to tip an effort from Russell around the post for another Clevedon corner.
As the game was drawing to a close, and with both managers using their substitutes, Wimborne saw another chance go to waste when Aidan Sainsbury found himself in the clear in the six yard box only to put his effort wide of the post with an open goal in front of him.
Shortly afterwards, the referee brought the game to a close with the score tied at 0-0 in the Evo-Stik Southern League division1 south west match.
The attendance was 212 and Rory Predergast was declared Clevedon Town man-of-the-match.
