Chasing Ice at the Curzon
A film showing with a difference! Plans are now well under way for the showing of Chasing Ice which Transition Clevedon is hosting jointly with the Clevedon Community Cinema on Sunday September 8th. This will be one of the first to be put on by the Curzon as a community evening and there's plenty to look forward to.
Chasing Ice is a stunningly beautiful film made using time lapse cameras over a period of years. These have shown how glaciers all round the world are moving and disappearing. For a taste of the film, which many in the environmental world think is more powerful than An Inconvenient Truth, go to: http://tinyurl.com/pcr7mkn
As well as the film itself there will be things to enjoy before and after. From 6pm there will be a very reasonably priced meal available from Arnett's Pop-up-Kitchen and beer on tap from Clevedon's own Twisted Oak Brewery. The cinema's bar will also be open.
There will also be stalls advertising the many ways in which Clevedon is already becoming a more resilient community and the opportunity to pick up a free copy of the new cycle and footpath map which will be launched on that evening.
After the film we will hear from Darren Hall, the Green Capital Partnership Manager for Bristol's winning bid to be the European Green Capital 2015. He will be telling us something of what that will mean as well as taking a Q & A session about relevant issues raised.
All in all it will be an evening to relish so we hope you'll be able to come and bring your friends! Normal Film Club ticket prices will apply; book on line at http://tinyurl.com/nh325pt
