National Adoption Week's 15th anniversary is from Monday to Sunday, November 5-11 and North Somerset Council is hoping it will inspire people to come forward to provide 'forever families'.
Adoption team manager Emma Simpson said the council is looking for families who can provide loving homes for all ages and ethnicity of children, and especially for sibling groups and children with disabilities.
She sadi: "We urgently need people who have thought about adoption to come forward and contact us.
"It doesn't matter what age you are, whether you're single or in a relationship, what your sexual orientation is or whether you own your home – it only matters that you can offer a child a loving and supportive family for life."
