TV SOAP star Brian Capron is swapping his television film set for the stage to perform in hit play Educating Rita.
The former Coronation Street baddie, who played Richard Hillman, is coming to Weston's Playhouse Theatre next month.
Brian won a clutch of awards for his on screen role including a record-breaking five awards at The Soap Awards scooping Best Actor and Best Villain.
Some may also remember him as Mr Hopwood in Grange Hill and more recently as Ozias Harding in Where The Heart Is.
Educating Rita, written by award-winning playwright Willy Russell, follows Rita, an English working class girl who wants to better herself by studying literature.
Her assigned Open University professor however has grown so disillusioned with higher education and all it represents, that he initially refuses to teach the vibrant and interesting woman at his door.
Despite his protests, he finally accedes to her demands and the education of "Rita" begins but this education comes at considerable cost for Rita.
She soon finds herself growing further and further away from the people she has been closest to, as she moves closer and closer to a world that promises more than it can deliver.

Her TV credits include BBC shows Eastenders, Nuzzle & Scratch, Doctors, Dalziel & Pascoe and Casualty, Hidden Lives for North1/Channel 5 and Packhorse for Sony Media, as well as a string of theatre credits.
These include Gutted, Crowning Glory and Bashment at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East, London Exiles at the Soho Theatre, Taken In at the Drill Hall, Steam at the Barons Court Theatre, Cymbeline at the Drayton Theatre, Electra at the Young Vic Studio and Vinegar Tom at the Parker Theatre in New York.
The show is produced by Talking Scarlet whose previous Playhouse productions include A Cricket Match and Deathtrap.
Talking Scarlet was founded in 2001 as a trading name for Big Dog Productions. Since then the company has produced and collaborated in productions at theatres all over the country.
